using Rosalind Franklin’s X-ray pictures James and Francis redeveloped the Watson-crick model that shows that a molecule forms a double-helix. Together they hypothesised that if the strands were separated lose floating nucleotides would attach to their complimentary nitrogenous bases forming a template, which is the process of DNA replication. There findings were published in the scientific nature journal April 1953.When they were done with the model during the same year James Watson published The Double helix which refers to the model. Using his knowledge of DNA pursued a project to locate the genes and to identify the sequences of the nitrogen bases pairs in the human genome.
2. Rosalind Franklin’s personality was the reason she became a scientist in the first place when she was young she did math for fun. John Desmond Bernal proclaimed in acknowledgment that franklin worked towards perfection and clarity, he said that her photos were one of the most beautiful X-ray photos taken of substance. She excelled in everything maths and Science when she worked on something she was in charge mentioned by (Bagley M, 2013)
Francis Crick became friends with James D Watson a student much younger then he was this friendship that was built to progress in the research of DNA was one example of how Crick had the ability to make productive friendships with other …show more content…
Both Crick and Watson were not fully educated in chemistry so they had difficulty with their first model. They used standard chemistry texts and cardboard they created models of chemical bonding configurations. Watson was approached by a graduate student about one of his chemical bonds backwards. Watson and Cricks model did not show that heredity information was passed down to generations and that it had a ladder structure during replication. Franklin did not get enough acknowledge from Watson and crick. She was unaware of the use of her picture in the discovery of DNA. The model would not have been built if it was not for Franklin’s theory about the DNA double helix. Watson and Crick just gave a 3D representation of Franklin’s work.
4. Franklin was not given recognition during the 1960’s only when the Double helix was published was she mentioned for stimulating Crick and Watson according ( Elkin L ,2018) Today she is known to have the most important role in the discovery of DNA people believe that she should have been the only one to get the noble award. In March 2000 the officials at king’s college where franklin and Wilkins Worked was named in their honour for the contribution to the discovery of DNA (Elkin L
