It first started when the stock market crashed in 1929. It crashed because farmers overproduced crops, they thought the more crops they produced that the more money they made, and because of high tariff taxes. Before we went in the Depression, European countries were in even a worse depression. So we couldn’t trade or sell items unless paying outrageous taxes.
