In addition to dissecting organisms, I also learned about various parts of the human body, from those in the skeletal system, to those in the cardiovascular system. Through both of these courses, my passion and knowledge in science and medicine grew. Although I wanted to pursue a career in the medical field, I was able to narrow down what specializations interested…
This activity would also provide me with a clear outline of what I would endure to become an oncologist, my desired profession. It is easy for me to say that they want to become a doctor, but this program shows me the careers and the requirements to become educated for the profession. For instance. the intellectual lectures will not only help me extract important information that was not expanded on in my high school biology class, but will also teach me new science applications that I can use to my advantage in my science classes in…
Students need to know that PowerPoint presentation is popular and the program itself allows us to develop, create, and edit an outstanding presentation. The slides are helpful because it gives the audience a view on the topic of choice. Using this specific program is a tool that offers different advantages, which benefits both educator and student. The user can combine the text, graphics and multimedia to support a presentation (Siddiqui, 2015, para.1). Using this presentation program modifies a professional looking presentation that reaches a mastery level.…

During nursing school, pediatrics and med-surg were my two of my most favorite classes. Not only was I interested in the material that was being taught, I was able to store that information in my long term memory. Being able to understand the process and connect the dots helped me to do well in both of those classes. I used that knowledge during my pediatric rotations at Cook Children’s and was able to determine why the patients experienced certain symptoms and what methods of treatment they need.…
The agreeable aspects of being medical technologist are that it champions the unique opportunities to accumulate medical experience academically and practically. For the speaking of intellectual learning opportunity, while being able to glean over a number of innovative laboratory techniques and contemporary medical procedures, I also gain knowledge in medical terms, anatomy, physiology, and patient relationships. In addition, for the practical experience, being a medical technologist has to benefit to interact with PAs daily basis and to find PA shadowing opportunities. However, the most precious benefit of my occupation is that it offers the varied PA shadowing opportunities. Since the Gulf Breeze Hospital has provided PA students for completing…
Some say the Civil War furthered medical intelligence, others say it prevented people from further study of the medical field. Surgeries back then were brutal and sometimes, unnecessary. Amputations, for example, existed among the army because bullets were stuck in the bones of the soldiers. Medics could not save two-thirds of wounded soldiers because they knew nothing about bacteria and the importance of sanitation. They dressed wounds with the same bandages on different people because the medics thought it would save supplies of bandages (Wegner).…
Part One: Career Search I am interesting in becoming an ultrasound technician because it sounds like an easy job, that wouldn’t be too stressful. It is also a job that you wouldn’t have to worry about when you go home, your day ends when you get off work. The job pays well but when I have done a little bit of research on it before it has said that it depends on where you work, if you work in a hospital or an office. I don’t know much about being or becoming an ultrasound technician…
Risha Patel CASPA - Please explain why you are interested in being a Physician Assistant. The test came back negative. We all felt Juan’s relief as we translated in Spanish that he did not contract HIV. While shaking my hand, he exclaimed in broken English, “I want to thank you because this isn’t your body or your responsibility, it’s mine.…
I will take full advantage of the resources provided by the program to better prepare myself for the future ahead of me. I will inquire my student mentors how to prepare for the GRE, how to get an edge as an applicant, and how to be a successful student in professional school. I look forward to shadowing multiple kinds of doctors and learning about the dynamics of how a team cooperates to treat patients. In addition, I aim to connect and learn from other students in the program, as I expect we will all be unique individuals coming from extraordinary backgrounds. I am mostly excited about the hands-on experiences during the program.…

Imagine a class where everything that you do is hands on; no paper, no pen, no text books, just you, your brain, and your hands. If I were to design my own course it would be exactly this, a class where you are in your most vulnerable state, a state of relying solemnly on your body. For my course all that you would do is dissections and lab work; it would be from small things like frogs to potentially humans. In my course you get the opportunity to learn about the anatomy of a variety of living creatures.…
Orthopedic Surgery averages more than 20 surgeries in a month (“Career”), which leads to the fact that orthopedic surgeons are in high demand. Orthopedic surgery looks like an interesting career, which I’d like to be in, in my future. A career in orthopedic surgery takes a lot of education and training, but has many benefits. There are many different kinds of surgeons in the United States. You have general surgeons, specialty interest surgeons, and specialists in the fields of surgery (“Sports Physicians”).…
