This would ensure drivers are not above the legal limit while driving, which would further reduce the number of drunk driving incidents. They should choose a designated driver before starting to drink and ensure that driver does not consume alcohol, ask others or call for a ride if they have consume alcohol, and protect others that have been drinking by taking their keys if they attempt to drive. Additionally, to be proactive, drivers can look for certain signs that another driver on the road is driving under the influence. Several signs are associated with drunk driving, including making wide turns, straddling the centerline, almost striking an object or vehicle, driving on the wrong side of the road, driving at a very slow speed, stopping without cause, braking erratically, responding slowly to traffic signals, turning abruptly, and driving after dark without the use of headlights. If drivers on the road suspect another driver is under the influence, they should pull over and report the driver by calling 9-1-1
