Also while brainstorming ideas, don’t forget to research. Research is such a key step that most aspiring designers seem to forget. With more valuable information under your belt, the ideas for your design will seem to come to you more easily. Lastly after you have jotted down ideas for your upcoming design, it is crucial to pause before editing ideas. Thumbnails are ‘mini-versions’ of what could be your final design. When creating thumbnails it’s important to freely open your mind and never erase ideas, because you may erase something that could have been a phenomenal idea. Just explore what your mind brings to you and as a designer, have fun with it. As I’ve mentioned before, brainstorming is one’s perspective. How you approach your design process is how the ending result will be. Be sure to have an open mind and be patient with yourself. If you reach a point in the process where there are no ideas flowing, take a break and come back later. We all reach those points where we feel as though nothing is happening in our head. Just remember graphic designers deserve a break sometimes too. In most cases, graphic designers are approached by clients that are in need of a design.
