Even schools outside of the United States have looked into the health and nutrition that comes from their food being served at schools. It is interesting to see what has been done to improve the quality of food and invest in students’ lives to keep them healthy. Some families cannot afford to purchase fresh fruits and vegetables. In Massachusetts, schools started requiring all students to be measured by the school nurse in the first, fourth, seventh, and tenth grades. Each student was measured by weight and height, and the information gathered was collected. The grades statistics were compared and analyzed. The system found that students in families with a higher income maintained a better weight than those from poorer families. (Wenjun, 2015) These statistics show just how important it is for schools to serve fresh produce and give proper well balanced meals. A drawback would be if the schools could not find it in their budget to provide such nutrition. Although, even if the schools could not provide as wide of a variety five days a week they may be able to provide every other day. Anything that the school systems could give would help benefit the students’
