In today’s time, we can have access to the internet at nearly any given time of our lives. For example, since we are students here at Zane State College, there is a computer lab set up for dozens of students to have free access to if they do not have internet at home. With internet use, we can watch tens of millions of uploaded videos, use our favorite television apps to stream episodes and movies, check our social media accounts, and much more.

Depending on the time of day, certain commercials will play. For example, late on Friday night, beer commercials will be advertised. ii. These commercials have led to obesity in all ages of our country’s youth.
Transition: As human beings, we are worth far more than being seen as another “online friend”.
III. Our social accounts and harm our self-esteem.
A. Social media accounts are an extension of ourselves.
Our online accounts help us be able to reach out into the world, without having to actually go outside at times. However, we tend to document our adventures by updating personal statuses, positing pictures, or recording videos. We want to make our lives to seem more interesting than what they really are.

In conclusion, there is hope to avoid the critical views of the media. When it comes to negative beauty standards, unhealthy lifestyles, the impact on your self-esteem, and hearing about fear on the news, remember to love yourself and limit your interaction with any type of media.
