Plagiarism exists at the highest level of our academic careers. Plagiarism doesn’t just tarnish one 's own academic integrity, it also affects the colleges or universities reputation as a whole. It seems completely irrational that students and writers alike, gamble away their own integrity for a chance at attaining glory. Writers often have their own style and the addition another author’s writing causes a feeling of alienation between texts. People who plagiarize while acknowledging the risks are either compelled with an urge to complete an assignment or seek the glory of the source that they stole from. The legality and intentional purposes of plagiarism are also up for debate.
The repercussions of plagiarism can be quite severe. Sacrificing your own academic integrity comes with dire consequences.
