There are many ways to revenge by using sharpen words to beat someone down, ignore that significant one, or sometimes people just get on with their life by living a better life as a wise revenge. At the very beginning of “Cask of Amontillado", narrator Montresor expresses his desire to revenge Fortunato toward the insult that Fortunato has done to him. His attitude is full of feud which promises to have a bloody ending or someone must pay for his guilt with a heavy price. Montresor masterfully plans his revenge in a neat way. He used Fortunato's weak point, “connoisseurship in wine", as a target for him to attack (Poe 3). Finally, Montresor decide to allure Fortunator by claiming of having the rare Amontillado wine. Montresor is very cunning when he choose the Carnival Season in Italy as the suitable time to occur. Carnival Season is a big festival in Italy where people wear masks as the central feature in the festival. Carnival Season in this story is like a metaphor where everyone is covered by a mask no one knows their real face. It is like a implication between Montresor and Fortunato when Fortunator does not have any ideas of Montresor's motivation. And Montresor is wearing a mask to pretend as a generous person by showing Fortunato the Amontillado wine. He lures Fortunato into his cellar for the rare wine. When they get into the catacomb, Montresor suddenly chain Fortunato to the wall and brick the opening in an inhumanity way. “I resumed the trowel, and finished without interruption the fifth, the sixth and the seventh tier.
