The sin is revealing unbelief of those who do not believe in the death, burial, resurrection, and ascension of Jesus Christ. The conviction also applies to those who have rejected Christ. (Thompson, 338)
Verse ten: The next roll of the Holy Spirit is concerning righteousness as He guides into truth since Jesus left to be with the Father. The purpose of righteousness from the Holy Spirit is revealing the perfect standard of God’s truth and justice. Verse 11: The final roll listed is concerning the judgement of the world because the ruler of this world is judged. The judgment means separation and when Jesus died on the cross, He was at the time separated from God, but the ruler of the world, Satan could not conquer death, and thus stands judged.
