One would define progressivism as the following social movements: environmentalism, labor, anti-poverty, peace, anti-racism, civil rights, women’s rights, animal rights, social justice, and political matters such as communism, socialism, liberalism, and a social democracy. “Progressivism began as a social movement and grew into a political movement.
