Any possible information flows up and down the hierarchy in a fashion that has been established. But it is hard for information to move to the left and right.There are many pros and cons to the hierarchy system which hinders or helps the organization it is set in place with. Some pros to this type of structure is the clear means of communication and how authority and reporting is carried out. Communication from higher to lower is maintained by having the leader talk to the next groupe being the people who carry out the operations all the way down to the people who are indirectly involved. Strategies are set in place this way making it easier because you only have to communicate with a certain number and the same of people every time. Repetition forms understanding. First you must, define terrorists. Next you must, locate terrorist and their organizations. Lastly, destroy terrorists and their organization. Once a terrorist, terrorist group, or terrorist organization is found the United States must react quickly and efficiently. they must use every means available to disturb, annihilate, and end these acts of terror. The ultimate goal is defeat. We must come up with a defense strategy to hurt these organizations. “Our [enemy] is proactive, innovative, well-networked, flexible, patient, young, technologically savvy, and learns and adapts continuously based upon both successful and failed operations around the globe(Philpott, 2007, pg 3-1).” To combat this proactive knowledge and situational awareness of your enemy and their surrounding help us to minimize their effects and safely conduct our mission.
