Macbeth- THE TRAGEDY OF MACBETH is set mainly in Scotland. It tells about a brave Scottish general who meets three witches that claim he will be the King one day. Prodded by his wife. Macbeth kills King Duncan to become king. He is soon a tyrant and his kingdom falls to pieces. This tragedy is full of blood and backstabbing at every turn and hooks readers from the first line to the last.

When Macbeth returns home he finds that he has been named Thane of Cawdor. He dismisses the rest of the prediction thinking it is just coincidence. However, the King comes to Macbeth’s castle and Lady Macbeth convinces Macbeth to kill duncan so he will become King of Scotland.
“We Will Speak Further.” -Macbeth
At this point Lady Macbeth knows she will be able to convince Macbeth to kill Duncan. She knows this because he did not completely dismiss the idea, he said they would talk about it later.
ACT II- Macbeth agrees with his wife to kill King Duncan. They drug the guards and place all the blame on them. In the morning when the murder is discovered Macbeth, Furious over the murder, kills the guards for having bloody daggers. He gets away with the murder and becomes King of Scotland. Duncan's sons flee from Scotland fearing that they will be killed too. This makes them look guilty too.

ACT V- Macbeth thinks he is invincible and boasts that no one can hurt him. The army approaches him and they all cut branches to hold in front of them to disguise them. Lady Macbeth goes mad from the guilt and kills herself. All of the prophesies start to come true and Macbeth gets scared but he will go down fighting. He is eventually killed by Macduff who was born by C section.
“Thou wast born of woman
But swords I smile at, weapons laugh to scorn,
Brandish'd by man that's of a woman born.” -Macbeth
Macbeth believes he is invincible because of the prophecy. He continues to boast and brag and will fight until he dies although he believes he can never die.

Ghosts and Visions-
"Is this a dagger which I see before me..."
The first vision that Macbeth has is the Vision of a dagger as he is deciding whether or not to kill King Duncan. He is on his way to King Duncan’s chamber and a dagger appears in front of him. He tries to grab it and realizes that it is telling him what to do. The vision leads him to Duncan’s sleeping body. He kills the King in cold
