The Tundra is an environment near the North Pole in the Arctic Circle. The Tundra is the coldest of all biomes. The Tundra’s winters are extremely cold with temperatures below -34
C. The summers last only about two months and the temperatures are still very cold from 3 to 12 C.The Tundra is a type of biome where the tree growth is hindered by low temperatures and short seasons.The term Tundra comes from Russian from the Kildin tundar during the “uplands”,”treeless mountain tract”.The Tundra is the biome that has cold temperatures even summer,but lots of wildflowers grow and sprout during that period.The Tundra is 3 million square miles long and covers 20% of the earth’s surface.

Cubs less than one year old sometimes are prey to wolves and other carnivores. The Polar Bear is a carnivorous. The Polar Bear the same size as Kodiak bear.The Polar bear weighs 990 lbs.Polar bears are the largest land carnivores in the world,besides the Kodiak brown bear.Female Polar bears will give birth to 2 to 3
