The plant what we worked with was the Wisconsin Fast Plant. We used this specific plant because they go through a complete life cycle within 40 days, using this plant allowed us to keep track of our plant growth in a short four-week period. We planted two seeds in individual sections of a Styrofoam box, in one section we planted the seeds with no fertilizer, in another we planted seeds with three pellets of fertilizer, then six pellets, and finally with nine pellets of fertilizer. In order to ensure optimal growth, the plants were watered continuously as well as staying under a fluorescent light 24 hours a day, and kept in a climate of 18-26. The point behind this experiment was to test to see how much fertilizer most effectively increased the growth of the fast plant. We believed that the plants with zero fertilizers and the plant with nine pellets of fertilizer would not grow as tall as the plats with both three and six pellets of fertilizer. We felt though that out of the two of those the plant with three fertilizers would end up growing the most because the ratio of plant seeds to fertilizer has the smallest gap
