Firstly, the example of Ponyboy and greasers being outsiders, is when after Ponyboy gets done watching a movie and walking home, he knows something, “Greasers can’t walk alone too much or they’ll get jumped, or someone will come by and scream “Greaser!” at them, which doesn’t make you feel too hot, if you know what I mean.” (Hinton 2) He feels almost isolated from the town, or like a corned animal. To elaborate, greasers are the outsiders. They would be seen as more violent and easy to blame.
