Critical thinking is the ability to intellectually and skillfully conceptualize, apply, and analyze information gathered from observation or experience as a guide to belief and action. Critical thinking therefore encompasses the use of interconnected skills to analyze and integrate what people read or perceive (Donna, 2001). Critical thinking skills are divided into six steps. In order to achieve the best conclusion, information should be gathered and evaluated from as many different sources possible. The gathering of information helps to broaden the scope of research and further increase the chance of improving on previously proposed ethical theories. Similarly, critical thinking improves self retrospection and personal assessment thereby helping me know my strengths, weaknesses, and preferences and their possible impact on decisions I make in life.
