Tim Wise raises quite a few criticisms against the Court’s decision. It is said that blacks should only get points for being a minority group and whites should get only get points having a low-income background, but Tim thinks blacks should get points for both, being a minority group and having a low-income background. Wise also criticizes that whites shouldn’t just be handed things, while the blacks have to actually work for the things they have in life. Points are just given to the whites just because of where they live and Tim believes that it shouldn’t be based on where you live. It should be based on the grades and the knowledge you’ve taken away from the classes taken in high school. Another criticism is that whites have so much better opportunities given to them than the blacks, Latinos, etc. White students have a higher chance of getting to attend the top schools, but since blacks rarely get into the best schools they don’t have as much chance of getting into AP and honors classes, meaning not as many points for than what the whites get. Lastly, Tim tells us is that points shouldn’t be given based on SAT scores, because since automatically whites have a better chance of going to a top school and get better grades than blacks it already shows who is going to get those points based on
