On 06/01/2018 at approximately 2343 hours, I, Deputy A. Martinez Vazquez responded to 3050 Healing Place, Oviedo, Seminole County, FL., in reference to a juvenile battering a staff member of the facility. When I arrived, I observed a juvenile by the name of Diallo Xavier Fitzgerald (B/M DOB: 01/29/2003) sitting on a chair in the dining room area surrounded by other facility staff members. Diallo had noticeable scratches on his face, his forehead and nose appeared to be swollen. I first spoke with the staff member who Diallo allegedly assaulted by the name of Antonio Anton Young (B/M DOB: 10/02/1982). Antonio is a staff member of Boys Town and is entrusted as a caregiver for the facility at the time of the incident.…
As we read chapter 12, Toddler Top 20 was a suggested idea or concepts that the author turns into a question that aims to challenge adults, whether parent or caregiver, to recognize and observe the reactions or development of babies that can occur by singing or playing a particular song. Although according to Gross (2011), parents or caregiver tends to let babies and toddler hear classical finger-plays like, “The Itsy Bitsy Spider”, “Row, row, row your boat”, and “Twinkle, twinkle little star”, because these songs are so familiar to them and they can easily sing it without difficulty. Any time of the day, when adults are with their babies, they can use it as a form of communication and a form of learning experiences for them. Classical songs…

Observation: Rise Program Physical Setting Rise is a beautiful facility. All of the windows looking into the classrooms and looking outside are my favorite because they provide light, openness, and a sense of connection throughout the whole building. The commons is also a great area. It is large and open for all of the kids to spread out and explore their surroundings, while engaging in gross motor activities, such as going down a slide, riding a tricycle, or jumping on a trampoline.…

Ms. Glen gave several examples on how to successfully use play party songs within one’s classroom (and beyond) such as hosting an “informance” event which offers participants a chance to experience the songs and dance movements first hand to gain a better understanding of each. Also, she brings up the option of hosting an actual play party as an addition to “International Night” at the school, in which guests could not only experience the original play party songs but folk dances and songs from around the U.S. and the rest of the world. The author closes with an emphasis on the importance of using music in the classroom for students to learn things such as history on an interesting platform without getting lost in scripted teaching which vital for students and the preservation of traditional…
“Kindergarten as Academic Boot Camp,” by Harry Gracey describes the conformity of schooling 5 and 6 year olds will go through. While watching the video I noticed that teacher was first observing the three children on the slide. The child in the light blue shirt his name is “Nick” and he was trying to interact with the other children. The other children didn’t interact with Nick and he ran over to another area in the classroom where another child was playing with some cars and a tower that allowed the cars to go down different level of the tower. Nick then began to play with cars as well in the attempt to get another child to interact and play with him. Once Nick didn’t get the response back with the other child he then found interest in another toy and then went back to play with cars and repeated what he saw the other child do with the cars and the tower and that…
Spending two and half hours in each classroom, I learned a great deal about early childhood education from ages birth through eight, and the effort and skills that it takes to create a stimulating learning environment. For my infant, toddler, and preschool observations, I spent my hours at the CCC Childcare Center located in our college while for my kindergarten, 1st grade, 2nd grade observations, I spent my time at Casey Park Elementary School. During my observations at the CCC Childcare Center, I learned plenty about the methods and practices that go into early education before primary grades. The preschool classroom really stood out to me because the centers in the classroom were very open ended and filled with lots of manipulative for…
A child’s musical experience begins when they are at home with their parents. But music education in the school should start when the student first enrolls. When students are in elementary school, they should learn the fundamentals of music. Such as telling the difference between tempo, knowing the note on the staff and the values of the rhythmic dictation. Then as they progress through their school years they should learn the different types of genres and styles.…
