When writing my goals in Transition to Professional Nursing, my two years goals were to finish my RN-BSN. I stuck to my goal it has been a year and half and I am finally at the end of the goal that I set. I have continued learning new skills. I love my job, the people I work with and the patients that I am taking care of.
Within the next 2 years, I will be advancing professionally and going to graduate school for my MSN. I would like to study leadership and management. I learned the most when I did the organizational analysis for the hospital that I work for. I learned the strengths and weaknesses, the care delivery system, their mission and values and what their standards are. I have learned more about the NCH, FTE, staffing mix, organizational and departmental budgets. I learned that it takes a lot to be a manager but it takes so much more to be a leader.
