The main issue of overflowing waste in the texts (Wall-e and Trash) is mainly derived from the unawareness and sheer apathy from society; mainly the emotions and responses of a responsible authority body. Both texts facilitates the examination of human condition. However, Trash delves into a psychological aspect, in terms as this unawareness comes from a pursuit of power in a social hierarchy, hence stripping people of their morals. The enormity of rubbish accounts to several repercussions, such as endangering life in general.
In Trash, Andy Mulligan takes the reader into a realm of ideals, where social class is everything. The dilapidating conditions Raphael, Gardo and Rat have to survive in clearly shows this. The fact that they are children connects to reader on an emotional level, provoking them to realise the reality of the situation. This further instills the truth that the government makes false promises, and never does anything. This otiosity of the regimentation placed in Behala truly reveals the thirst for money.

In Trash, these issues follow a basic route:the ideals of propaganda and social ladder where the top is the most important and integral to society, where the poor are simple flies, and discarding them doesn't affect anything. Due to this, those who are at the bottom go to extreme lengths to obtain basic rights. Whilst in Wall-e, a similar idea of propaganda and brainwashing is shown, whilst also displaying the idea trash that can be seen from space covering the entire earth in a blanket of rubbish, and the extreme use of non-renewable resources, depleting earth. Environmentally, they both follow a similar theme of pollution and inability to tackle problems head
