As an immigrant with English as second language, my vernacular dialect is very similar yet also different to the Standard English. Although the rules of standard English are complicated but using the correct grammar and well organized ideas can create a different impression to the audience. In the Standard American English part, I looked for a better word like “big giant car seat” (Nguyen, “Vernacular Dialect.” Final Draft. 1) to “enormous car seat” and connect my thoughts to let it flow better. The purpose of following grammar rules, crafting the letter, and using formal tone is to show the sincere and serious desperation for help from an unfamiliar person.
