Violence. We’ve all heard of it. Usually, when people hear the word violence, they think of children getting picked on at school or a child getting their lunch money stolen. The line doesn’t end there, though. From big, fat bullies at school picking on younger, weaker kids to people getting beat on the streets just because the color of their skin, violence is happening all around the world.
Everyday, hundreds of people of all ages are abused, bullied, or mistreated. Adults are being physically and mentally abused by their spouse, and children are begging their parents not to go to school based on fear of being picked on or hurt. The fact that people are afraid to live their lives because of others is unbelieveable. Most people don’t understand what it’s like to be abused or harassed, but those that do know wish they didn’t. …show more content…
Women in certain cultures are frowned upon, and children are being killed for their religion. Just because it isn’t affecting you, doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist. These issues may not be happening in your area, but that does not mean violence is nonexistent. Many people hear about wars in Syria or discrimination in “The South” but they do nothing to stop it since it simply does not exist in their area. This is not right; people need to join together around the world in order to stop this violence.
There are many ways people can stop violence. One of these is to just be kind. Almost all people who use violence are trying to get something they want but cannot have. Starting at an extremely early age, kids already fight over who gets the last cookie or who gets to go first on a Disney ride. If every person let the other one go first or get the “last cookie”, then there would be a lot less
