Two ideas claim that media violence effects are detrimental to viewers. The first premise is to prove that violence and aggression are present in media content. The second is that being exposed to this violent content is significant in adults and children ( Krahe, 2013). Likewise, the public interest has been peaked with the recent increase in the high school shooting and how they are related to violent media content. Over the years violent media as becoming significantly popular and there has been significant evidence to support the claims that violent media consumption, in childhood and adolescence prove that violent media and aggression are correlated. (Anderson, et al, 2008). There is a causal risk factor that long-term exposure to violent media content has an effect on aggressive behavior, aggressive thoughts, and desensitization to violence.
