Lev Vygotsky theory on social interaction paved the way for how it applies to cognitive development. Vygotsky believed that a community plays an essential role in the process of “make meaning”. Make meaning refers to the process in which an idividual can make concrete sense of life, theselves and relationships. A child is curious and actevily involved into their learning and discovery of things. Vygotsky believe that a skillful tutor wold aid in the cognitive devlopment. He stresses the idea that the tutor must model behavior and provide verbal instructions for the child. H reffered to this idea as cooperative or collaborative dialouge. Where the student absorbs the lesson given to them by the teacher and then regurgatate it to them and places it into their everyday routine. So that as the child becomes more competant it can come up with thoughts and actions on its own. This can be both a positive and negative thing in the sense that positively human interaction makes for a gateway to understanding why you are the way youre. But it can also become negative thing with the idea being which social “interaction” is best for the development. Should someone be faced with scholors, a octor , the president or is someone who lets say commited a crime the wrong person to sociallly interact with. The lines are blured of which type of person to person interaction will be the best for the childs cognitive
