The sun shines brightly through the window and with a yawn, I pull myself out of bed to shower. After showering, I walk to my kitchen and pour myself a bowl of cereal. The cereal pitter-patters into the bowl, a calming sound. This morning, the cereal is cheerios with sugar, and while it doesn’t taste amazing, it is not disappointing. The time is now 7:45, and it is time for me to begin my commute. Finally, I say goodbye to my wife and with a hug and a kiss, I begin on my way. As I turn my key in the ignition, the engine of my car roars to life. Subsequently, I shift into reverse and back out of my driveway, beginning my travel to the workplace. In the fall, I commute with my windows rolled down to enjoy the crisp air, and the birds chirping away. Unfortunately, not all of these sounds are so pleasant, I also hear the wind rush by and the tires drone on against the asphalt. However, I love the sights and sounds of my commute. That commute doesn’t last forever, thankfully. At 8:55, I leave the comfort of my vehicle to go into work, and with a hundred soft footsteps, I reach the door and enter. As I approach my cubicle, I hear phones ring and employees talking to one another about everything from their kids’ schoolwork to how poorly the local professional sports team performed last weekend. I sit down at an orderly, clean desk and begin work. I check emails, make any important phone calls and am ready to begin my
