One in every three people living in America knows an individual who has suffered from a gunshot wound. Purchasing and handling firearms is a topic of much discussion in The United States of America due to recent events of improper use of guns resulting in injury and sometimes death. The topic of gun control is found to be extremely prevalent due to events such as the Sandy Hook and Virginia Tech shootings that involved one individual going on a rampage shooting numerous innocent civilians. The American Constitution declares that citizens have the right to bear arms, but this statement is concerning due to the recent negative events involving guns and death. A major argument is that responsible citizens should have the right to arm themselves against dangerous criminals. As much as the United States tries to cover it up, it is common knowledge that there are numerous individuals who are criminals that are walking freely. Statistics say that fifty-nine percent of people who carry a handgun do so because it makes them feel safer. American citizens are entitled to safety and individuals against new gun control regulations would argue that this is a way to make them feel safer (Concealed Guns). If individuals feel securer carrying a concealed gun, than this argument is acceptable. A second major argument is the right to carry concealed handguns guaranteed by the Second Amendment of the United States Constitution. The entire Second Amendment states: "a well regulated Militia being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms shall not be infringed." If America were to not allow the right to bear arms it would be going against what the constitution guarantees making it an unconstitutional act (Concealed
