The dropping of the atomic bombs caused starvation, crippling mutilations, psychological and emotional damages. It had killed more than 210,000 people which most of them were civilians but not military soldiers. Infrastructure was demolished and people became homeless and unemployed. Radiation released from the atomic bombs haunted survivors and brought birth defects. According to Herbert Hoover, previous President of the US, using atomic bombs had indiscriminately killed women and children. The revenge of dropping the atomic bombs by the US was too cruel and ruthless to Japan. With the huge disaster and damage brought to the social condition of Japan, the dropping of the atomic bombs should be prohibited and should not be justified even if Japan was provoking the launch of the Pearl Harbor attack.
Other than Truman’s selfishness, the result of encouraging use of heavy weapons and ethnic considerations, the dropping of the atomic bombs during the Second World War should not be justified with the consideration of Japan’s weak power, the USA’s own national desires for “revenge” and the damages brought to diplomatic relations in the long
