What is an architect? Throughout the years, the architecture profession has been questioned. Many theorists have debated the functionality and point of views of different forms in regard to this question. These perceptions of the architect are still being written at the present moment. As statements keep appearing, more meanings are perceived and read on a global scale. It is still unclear who has the correct solution or whether it might appear. The answer to this question may never appear. The architecture profession has been an open source for theories and ideas that an individual is incapable of selecting from multiple answers. While it is expected of architects to be the sole mediator for design and society, it is no their sole purpose. One purpose of the architect could have is to be involved in relating and illustrating types of ways one can improve the social aspect. Another could express their social value that they believe to be. As social tendencies and views change, the architect’s design tends to be shaped around. The original design might fit with the current social spectrum, but as it changes, so does the views it originally was accompanied by. Some believe that their purpose is to recreate the social spectrum. Thus, irrationally designed pieces that do not fit alongside society are made. Others seek to find an opportunity to work while having no interest in connecting to the social fabric. It is important to emphasize that an individual may have different views on what an architect truly is. Architects are seen as individuals that connect all dots on the map. Intellectually and conceptually, the architect is drawn to problem solving which Carrio and Deamer sought and wrote.
