Matthew, Mark, Luke and John are the four gospels, they describe the life and teachings of Jesus. Matthew was written to convince the Jews that Jesus was the Messiah. It is the handbook on the teachings of Jesus, containing five collections of wisdoms concerning the Kingdom of Heaven. Mark portrays Jesus as the powerful, suffering servant of God.
