You can try natural sweeteners if you need to, but when you choose whole foods - there is little need to make them sweeter than they are in their natural state.
When you cook your own meals you are in control of what you put in your mouth - and the mouths of your loved ones. When your main foods are clean, whole foods, preparing a meal is easy and needs little preparation aside from chopping and cooking - and many don't even need to be cooked. Most whole food recipes are just as fast to prepare as one that comes from a box.
