Abortion wasn’t always legal in America, until the early ‘70s. Before abortion was legal women who had the money will usually pay a doctor to do it for them. However, for many women that wasn’t always the case. Those who wanted an abortion, but couldn’t afford it will place a coat hanger in their vagina or they would drink hard drugs and or other chemicals. On January 22, 1973 in the Supreme Court case Roe v. Wade, was when abortion was finally legal, because the courts had realized it was an invasion of women’s privacy. In 2016 abortion is still legal but, of course they are some people who are against it. Also, the fetus would not come into this world unwanted, abortion controls population size, decreases crime rates. Lastly, abortion can save a child from living a miserable life, if known that child will be born with life threatening diseases. People who are against abortion are against it because the fetus can feel pain during the procedure, and abortion is taking away someone 's life which is consider murder. Those who are against it also argue that the baby has a soul, is a human being. At last, they argue that a women may face life threatening diseases (cancer, etc.) and may in fact develop a mental illness.
