As much as possible, turn on the radio or television programs when your child is awake. Although he may not understand the language yet, he is slowly but surely picking up words here and there, learning how to pronounce them properly and using them appropriately. Also, he can listen to the rhythm and cadence of the Spanish language and slowly adapting to it from his native English tongue.
If you know your Spanish grammar rules, you can make your own pattern response drills for your child to follow. Soon enough, your child can correctly say the sentences with grammar rules followed as closely as possible for their age.
You should provide games and toys to make learning fun. As previously stated, children absorb the second language like a sponge when they can turn it into a game.
