Only two injuries in my high school career were serious enough for me to pay him a visit. The first injury was Medial Tibial Stress Syndrome. The second was Adolescent Anterior Knee Pain, an overuse injury caused by dancing. I went to the Athletic Trainer to ask what I should do for my knee injury and he told me to stop dancing. Psychologically, it is difficult for an athlete to stop doing what they love altogether, so I could not understand or accept his instruction. He did not give me any other ways to treat it, or suggest any follow up visits in case the injury got better or worse.
