Racism and Anti-semitism has always existed in Canada for centuries but specifically in the 1930s to 1940s, Racism was very evident due to the WW2. Canada only took in 4,000 Jewish refugees which was a very small portion of all of the jewish refugees, this might have happened because Jewish people at the time were the least desirable immigrants, Also the prime minister at the time, Mackenzie King thought that the Jewish people would pollute Canada bloodstream. Many places in Canada were racist and did not allow jewish people to be in these places and Jewish people were also called “enemy aliens”. Due to the racism, many violent protest and incidents were against Jewish people and the Jewish community in Canada, at the time it was a war of the Jewish community against Nazi party supporter and leaders. Jewish people were not the only one that were discriminated against, the Japanese and black people were discriminated against and they also were not allowed into certain places. This event in Canadian history made Canada a more weaker and divided country because during WW2 it was colored people and immigrants against the rest of Canada which splits the country apart. This was most evident with the Jewish community in Canada because there were many violent protest against the Jewish
