Foreign policy-problem
The Weimar republic had 4 main problems to deal with:
1_aggreeing fair reperation payments
2_protection of the 12 million Germans under foreign control
3_readjusting Eastern boarders, recovering Danzig, the Polish corridor and correcting the boarders with upper Silesia.
4_they feel isolated and want more respect from other countries.
Foreign policy-action
Stresemann signed the Locamo treaties in 1925. In 1929 the young plan produced a final agreement on the issue of reperations, allied forces were withdrawn from the Rhineland area of Germany.

Germany was allowed in to the league of nations
Political problems-problem
Proportional representation meant that no one government won enough seats to make their laws. The party's were suspicious of each other.

They formed coalitions with other governments
Political problems-success
1924-1929 saw more stable coalitions showing that the middle class parties were no longer suspicious of socialists.
The economy-problem
The hyperinflation of 1923 had destroyed people's savings and there was little money for government investment.

In 1924, through the Dawes plan, Germany was lent 800 million marks by the USA to invest in industry and commerce. They introduced a new currency.
The economy-success
In 1928 industrial production finally surpassed pre WW1 levels.
