A couple weeks ago, Holy Ghost had its annual service trip to the Dominican Republic. I had heard about the trip from Dr. O’Connor when I did the summer enrichment program in 6th grade. I looked forward to going on the trip when I got to Ghost, and I got the chance this summer. At first I was really nervous, but by the second day there I realized how special the trip truly is. I got to give my Spanish a jog, I got to meet a ton of new people, and I had my eyes opened to a new way of living.…

Who is Nirvana? Why are they important? In a society that demands conformity why did a group of high school dropouts draw the attention of the entire nation with this new form of musical expression that seemed to thrive on negative emotions and controversial ideas? These questions always seem to follow particularly rock musicians because of the topics and the visual impressions they use to express their views of the world. Their impact on the music industry has completely changed how some labels produce their artists, but how did this grunge movement start and why is nirvana the focus of it?…

In the movie “Kingdom of Heaven” Hollywood has done what it does best, portray some scenes that are not quite historically correct. The battle scenes and the training scenes were quite splendid! But I'm not going to say that everything was historically correct. But maybe that's why there are so many historical incorrections, to make the movie more interesting and appealing to the eyes of its audience. Even if you aren’t a “history buff”, you would probably still notice some of the historical incorrections.…
