Traveling several times a year to Blythe to tour its desert facilities at Gene Camp, the Palo Verde Irrigation District Diversion Dam and the Palo Verde Valley itself, MWD representatives completed their tour for the day at the local hay press at HayDay Farms, where they were later served lunch by the 4-H Club.
Dressed in their uniforms, the members of the Horse Project, were given the opportunity to not only serve at this luncheon, but also led the representatives into reciting the Pledge of Allegiance …show more content…
During the public comment portion of the meeting, Taylor Sutterfield and fellow members of the Desert Compadres presented Chairman Randy Record with a belt buckle adn a Friend of 4-H certificate signed by the University of California Cooperative Extension of Riverside County 4-H Representatives, making him an honorary member of the Desert Compadres 4H Club.
Commended for their service, presentation and being a great group to work with, the girls, ages nine to 15, were well received by an arousing round of applause from the crowd in the room.
Treating the group to another tour of the city before their trip back to Palm Desert, Michael Yu helped bring the Desert Compadres’ memorable time in LA full circle.
