Hello. How are you?
I am writing a letter to ask you to support me regarding my academic probation. I want you to petition for the Committee of Graduate School that let me have one more semester that I can escape from academic probation.

First, let me explain the reason why I am under probation and what difficulties I have currently. I had asked temporary rest from study in the middle of Spring 2013, which was my second semester, so I was leaving absent from school for almost 2 years. The reason was in terms of family emergency, which was my mother had gotten several surgical operation due to her serial cancers. At that time, there is no one around my mother to take care of her because I am only child and she was divorced few years ago.
And after that, finally, I came back last Spring 2015. As a result, when I decided to come back to school, The Committee of Graduate School told me that I should improve my cumulative GPA over 3.0, if then, they will allow me to keep going to school from Spring 2016. It means that if I would not improve my cumulative GPA, I would be denied from school right after this Autumn 2015 semester. I know it is a penalty, but it is pretty hard.
I know 3.0 GPA is not very high at all. But the problem is

I did good and showed high score (GPA 3.82) in last Spring semester. As well as I am doing great so far in this semester (scores varied from A- to A even though the final scores are not yet graded). Also, I am planning to present a poster at SSWR 2016. My ePOSTER entitled "The Relationships Between Psychological Distress and General Health Information Seeking and Online Health Information Seeking" is scheduled for Friday, January 15, 2016, at the January 2016 SSWR Annual Conference in Washington, DC, at the Renaissance Washington, DC Downtown Hotel. Moreover, I have submitted two more abstract to SWSD 2016. I am waiting the positive result and looking forward to get accepted both of

It has come to my knowledge that there is a limited amount of spots in the ENG 102 class for next semester. I am one of the best candidates to continue into ENG 102 and thrive in Ms. Laduca’s learning environment. Although I do not fear that I have not already earned my spot, I will proceed to justify my case. I have been an adroit student of Ms. LaDuca’s for the last year and a half; she knows exactly what kind of student I am. Since seventh grade, I have been an ebullient honors student in the top ten percent of the 2016 cohort and have not received any grades lower than an A. I always exceed expectations, put in 110% of my effort, and achieve and maintain excellent grades at the same time.…

During my junior year I experienced failure. I had taken 3 AP classes and I was in cheer at my high school, and trying to figure out a balance between the two was difficult for me because it seemed like cheer took up a lot of my time and in the past other two years it had, but I had managed to still do well in my honors and AP classes. My junior year was another story, I struggled a lot at the beginning of the school year, and most of first semester was spent with me having an F sometimes more than one, and that was a failure to me because I had my heart set on going to a four college or university and I knew that if i had an F i wouldnt qualify.…

I would first like to thank Frostburg State University for accepting me in their institution and giving me the chance to further my education after my high school scholar years. I have enjoyed my time at Frostburg State University and with hard work I have been able to make the dean’s list and be accepted in the Honors program during the first semester of my freshman year. I hope to continue to work even harder during the second semester and throughout my school career. As a small university, Frostburg has enabled me to benefit from many things, such as the small size classes. Now that I have gotten used to college and life on campus, I believe it is time to continue to push myself to work harder and to attend an institution where I could be academically challenged and can be surrounded by many people who share my profession.…

My poor academic performance was not just a bad reflection of myself but also of what knowledge I should have been able to show I learned from taking intriguing classes. I have never been a person to give up and usually go full force with anything I would like to pursue. This may not be the best description; however, I believe I may have hit my own version of a mid-life crisis.…

My grades this past year were and are not indicative of who I am as a student, or as a person in general. My junior year of high school, I decided to do PSEO, thinking it was an easy way to get credits for both high school and college. I did not realize the struggle I was going to have just trying to be accountable for myself during my senior year. My daily schedule consisted of work, soccer, managing the high school boy’s hockey team, volunteer work, spending time with my high school friends and taking college courses. I took the most challenging classes through Anoka-Ramsey Community College, thinking that like high school these would be the best for me.…

As a child of immigrant parents, whom never passed secondary education, I had been told several times by my mother, “I came here so you can have the opportunities I never had.” I never took her words in for consideration. Being callow was part of the predicament, and my early teenage mindset kept me in captivity. Unlike my mother, I’ve been oblivious to the fact that as a citizen, I’m capable of achieving anything. During my last two years of high school, I realized that she was utterly right.…

Being placed on probation means to me that I need to be cautious of my actions. Being on probations limits me to do things that I could have been able to do. For example, being on probation I cannot run or apply for certain positions or leadership roles. Since I do not agree I am responsible for my sanctions and I do not agree I should be on probation, it is difficult to understand why I am and what it means to me.
