Setting In Stories In the story “All Summer in a day” by Ray Bradbury is a futuristic short story. The story starts of very grey and drey. It's raining, the sun isn't out. Then you find out that the sun only comes out or not at all every seven years for two hours. The main character is sad because she was born on earth and moved to the planet she says she remembers the sun. A kid locks her in a closet and as the sun comes out the kids are playing outside. This shows that even win the sun comes up and the setting is a lot more happy that it still ends up being sad. The story “Lottery” by Shirley Jackson starts in a small happy town with kids playing. Everyone seems to be very happy. Then all the people in the small town group in the middle
