There are also stores for different hobbies and fandoms. Customers can go and spend hours walking around and going into different stores and/or eating different foods. The busiest day at Carolina Place Mall is usually saturday because a lot of people in America do not work that day. Employees on the other hand spend the day working eight hour shifts, and locked away from the beautiful sunny days. Lily sees people walk by her job all day long and thinks to herself “I wish I had this day off so I could go out and do something fun. I know that I wouldn’t be here shopping if I were them”. She doesn’t understand what it is that the customers find so amusing about being locked away in a place for hours if there is so much to do outside those walls. People have no problem going into the same store three or four times to see the same things they have already seen. Customers see closing time as an open sky. They think “yes! We made it on time” or “Discounted/free food?!” Many people walk into a store five minutes before closing and that is something employees are not very fond of. Carolina Place closes at 9pm, however, employees start preparing for closing before 9 o’clock because they are tired and want to go home. Many customers do not care about the employee being tired or the fact that the store is about to close soon, in other words they just want to satisfy their needs regardless of other people’s. Once the clock hits 9pm the mall employees close their stores and try to finish the clean up process in order to go home. People will see the store locked, the gates down, the lights off etc. and will stay say “Are you guys closed?” Yes they are. The mall closes at 9pm, and there is absolutely no reason why there should still be people in the mall ten minutes after closing time. It is different at Lily’s job. They sell food not clothes and Lily’s boss demands that all cleaning must be done with the pretzels still in the warmer in case people try to buy some. So, while Lily and her coworkers are cleaning, after closing time, they still have to sell as much as they can. Customers will go to Auntie Anne’s and try to bargain with the employee for free pretzels. What annoys Lily the most is when people go at late
