From the remains they found that they were loving and peaceful people with short brown wavy hair. They lived during the time of wet climate making the soil very swampy. Animals that reside in such areas are alligators and Hippopotamus. The hippos provided the ivory used in the jewelry found on the remains. A few eating utensils were found and they were made of Ivory. It is evident that the Badarians cooked outside from the small hollows made in the ground. The Badarians were very resourceful with the remains of their food. They had: oxen, sheep, goats, gazelle, fish, and birds. They produced tools such as arrows, and stone axes to hunt with. The throw hooks were used to hunt birds. They used nets and handmade hooks for fishing.
The Badarians were people of agriculture. In the passage one of the authors describes the as pastoral people. From reading I gained insight on how family oriented the Badarians were. They would gather outside as a family for stew or porridge. I like most that the people this civilization were resourceful and fixed things instead of getting rid of it. Agriculture and domestication of animals revolutionized life. The establishment of government and religion play a force in the Western civilization also. Farmers are the establishers of settlements and the hunting for food gathering shaped social development. The Badarians’ remains show that they ate as a family, and use all of the stock that they are eating. From the skin to the Ivory, everything is used. The housing is also a major influence of Western civilization like the Aryans houses are built of clay. The remains of the Badarians were laid to rest peacefully just as people are today.
