Improved Essays
A Cruel and Unjust Life Right now over one million animals are being tortured and tested on throughout the United States. (“Animal Testing 101”) These animals include birds, dogs, cats, bunnies, and so much more. These animals have no protection from the harsh examinations the scientists do with them. They are in inhumane living and have no time to play, like an animal should do. Their living conditions are bleak and in total solitary.(“Animals in Testing and Research”) These government and university laboratories are no place for an animal to live their life. These animals are in distress and unrestful. After all the burning, cutting, and pain these animals go through, they still love humans. Animals after testing are paralyzed, bleeding and believe that there is no hope. (“Cosmetic and Product Testing”) No one on the planet should have to go through this, and it is even verified that there are better option. (Charles R.Magel) Also the AWA (Animal Welfare Act) provides minimal protection to the animals that are in abusive homes, but do not provide any protection to animals in laboratories. Animal testing should be illegal because there are other options, it is expensive and time consuming, most tests fail and products tested cannot even be applied to humans. …show more content…
All of the test eventually kills the animals, either they are deceased only a few months into testing or pass away when the tests are over and the scientist do not need them anymore. Also animal testing can be unrelievable. In one case study a medicine reduced the size of a tumor in the animal but when it was applied to humans, the tumor in the human grow three time larger. (“Lush Prize”) Scientist should be putting their time and effort into using the new modern technology to be discovering new ways to cure cancer and other diseases. This is also another reason why animal testing must be abolished
