Annie takes initiative and seizes opportunities. Last year as a new student in a very large high school, she joined the stage crew, participated in track and field and became a member of the National Honor Society. This year she leads Tolerise, a sociopolitical-centered discussion group that began at her old school. Her experiences—particularly her involvement with Tolerise—prompted her to develop leadership skills. She relates well to all types of people and recognizes the value of considering different points of view when trying to solve problems or reach goals. Although her activities and commitments consume many hours, Annie manages her time wisely without jeopardizing her schoolwork
