How did they get to that point? What made them turn out the way that they did? What made them decide to kill? To answer these questions I decided to look into a killer that has committed several crimes within his life, Jeffrey Dahmer. Dahmer was a serial killer, necrophiliac, cannibal, and rapist that lived from May 26, 1960 to November 28, 1994. He had gone out and decided to take the lives of seventeen men over the course of his life. I have studied his life and story to look into his past and murders to try and figure out what was really going on inside his head. This is a documentary that shows the childhood of Dahmer all the way up until he dies, allowing the audience to see some of Dahmer’s and his father’s reactions in an interview fashion. This data set was chosen because Dahmer is one of the most notorious serial killers and is well known within society. He grew up as a social outcast and through that he had been alone with his mind, allowing it to travel into darker thoughts. He craved the attention of other human beings but never really got it, so this led him to turn into the serial killer that he became.
Theoretical Model of Cause and Effect We have to use the Theoretical Model of Cause and Effect (See Figure 1) to truly understand the truth on why Jeffrey Dahmer had decided to go out and kill seventeen young men. But before we use the theory, we have to look at and understand what the model is showing and what it is all about.
