Medical Marijuana is marijuana that is grown legally for health care purposes, Medical Marijuana is used for medical purposes, it helps many people who use it for pain and other medical worries. It acts just like an Opioid, or painkiller, but is an alternative to those. "Cannabis is the single most versatile herbal remedy, no other single plant contains as wide a range of medically active herbal constituents." Dr. Etan Russo (Cannabinoid Research Institute) How Does It Help? Medical Marijuana treats many causes such as pain, anxiety, nausea, seizures, psychosis, and sleep disorders. Two of the biggest problems for teens are anxiety and sleep disorders. Anxiety is a feeling of worry, nervousness, or unease, typically about an event with an uncertain outcome. Studies have shown that cannabis can improve the quality and duration of your sleep. What are the downfalls? Marijuana negatively affects us because it can pose some health risks, people can abuse it, people can misuse it, it is considered the "gateway drug", and it is kind of expensive. One of the biggest problems is that it is the "gateway drug", this means that marijuana is usually the starter drug. This leads to the use of more dangerous and addictive drugs. Also, it poses many health risks, it can lead to some cancers, if you smoke it, just as cigarettes, and long-term overuse causes vomiting called cannabinoid hyperemesis syndrome, spasticity, muscle spasms, chronic pain, short term sleep problems, lower blood pressure, and slowed heart rate. -Marijuana being grown and produced for health care purposes. -As you see it not being grown in some dudes back yard, it more professional.
