Argumentative Essay: Should Animal Testing Be Banned?

Animal testing is an inhumane practice I intend to get banned. I have signed petitions through the humane society to enact legislation regarding the banning of animal testing in cosmetics in hopes to end the disgusting, unnecessary treatment of these victims of speciesism. I cannot live a fulfilled life knowing there is a horrific genocide of living, conscious beings that have feelings and families without doing whatever I can to stop it from happening. One of the leading causes of global warming that most do not consider is large scale methane emission from cows. The amount of vegans is low because we humans push our emotions and instincts to the side, so that it cannot affect the process of getting what we want, such as money, food, leather, and fur. This previously described mindset produces a challenge when trying to promote veganism in the first place. People are so set in the ways in which they have always lived, and are usually resistant to dramatic change. Imagine if we began to embrace that we don’t want to kill animals because we are not meant to digest meat, if we began to realize the natural medicines and abundance of whole foods that the rainforests have to offer instead of ravaging them to build farms, if we stopped overbreeding slaughter-bound animals that we do not need in order to stop the excessive amounts of methane they emit. So many of the problems we pray won’t need to be dealt with until after our generation dies would begin to gradually rectify, and prolong the life of our Earth. Because of this, veganism is not only an emotionally derived movement, it is extremely logical, which is the point I have been trying to get across in every way I promote the
