Odysseus shows his intelligence many times during his life changing journey. One of those times is when he comes up with the idea of the Trojan horse. This idea involves Odysseus and his men hiding inside a gigantic horse statue and attacking the Trojans when they least expect it. One time he shows this trait is when his men are turned into pigs by Circes. Instead of asking the second half of his crew to go with him he goes by himself to save them. This event really does show a lot about Odysseus’s courage and character. Another major event where his bravery is displayed is when he enters the land of the dead to see Tiresias alone. No common man would have ever dared step foot in there and risk their lives like Odysseus did. Odysseus also shows bravery when going up against Scylla and Charybdis. Instead of showing fear when Circes tells him about them he steps up to the challenge. As they enter Scyllas cave Odysseus remains calm and tells his men no matter what happens keep rowing. this act of bravery gets himself and half of the crew out alive.
