When it comes to a Chuck Close and one of his paintings you can barely tell the difference between it and a photograph. He is an artist who creates large photo realistic portraits using specially made tools and equipment because he has a blood clot in his spine. Chuck Close has had many obstacles in his life that he has had to overcome such as his many health issues and that inspires people to always look on the bright side.

He paint the shapes and it may not seem like much up close, but taking those a couple steps aways you can see a what looks like a picture. In 1988, Chuck Close had a blood spinal artery collapse causing him to only have partial use of his legs and arms. He still wanted to paint because that is what he loved doing. Chuck Close had tools and equipment specially made for him so he would be able to continue his passion for art. As he creates his art, he must use a wrist brace to keep the paint brush in his hand so he can paint and the other hand to support the brace. He also had face blindness, where he could only remember people's faces if they were in 2-D like a photo.
Chuck Close inspires people to always look on the bright side of everything because not everyone can be as lucky as others. Even though he had a poor education, dyslexia, a blood clot in his spine and the loss of his father at a young age, Chuck Close shows people that no matter the setbacks in life, you can always persevere and get through it to continue doing what you love.
