Auto Racing Case Study
In the present day of competitive auto racing, the drivers have become the stars of the sporting event. However, behind the driver's success, two groups exist, formal and informal that enables smooth running of the racing cars, Formula one, and NASCAR. The case study looks at how the auto racing team is involved in ensuring the success of the auto racing drivers without much recognition.
A racing team always possesses both traits of the formal and informal group. The formal group has the primary objective of ensuring that the whole group forms a formidable force that functions optimally as one to ensure they win the race. The formal groups comprise of sets of individuals each with specific role to ensure effective and efficient team operation. The various forms of professional auto racing such as car racing, Formula One , and NASCAR uses a different formal group of teamwork structures, but teamwork is the common denominator (McKay, 2012).
Each has specific role to play in operation and direction of the car when racing. An excellent formal team knows teamwork will always raise the chances of success. The formal group comprises of the drivers, mechanics, fabricators, and aerodynamic experts.
The informal group in the racing team has an informal relationship with the formal group that
